Survive!

Every living thing, human beings included, is basically trying to survive.
What is less assumed is that survive here means to be in the best possible condition for the longest time possible.
And that this includes not only just self, but basically everyone and everything.
And that this includes not only material issues such as food and shelter, but non−material values as well.
The influence on the “quality of one’s life” of communion and of non−material elements such as ethics, culture, values, aesthetics, feelings, spirituality, can be easily observed, for instance when they make the difference between a human being and a brute. Indeed, even the world at large today is beginning to realize that the Gross Domestic Product is a faulty and incomplete indicator of the nation’s well being, and it should be improved by including less material factors, too.
